I painted this little tiled house while thinking about rainy days that feel gentle instead of gloomy. The kind where the light turns soft, the street gets quiet, and you notice small things you might usually miss - like a row of umbrellas resting by the door, waiting for the next trip outside.
I loved building the scene piece by piece: the grid of blue tiles, the warm terracotta roof, and the simple wooden door at the center. The upstairs window was especially fun to paint - just a few blocks of color and curtain shapes, but it instantly makes the house feel lived-in, like someone is inside making tea and listening to the rain. The umbrellas at the bottom are my favorite detail; they add a little story, like the rain has just stopped and everyone has come back home at once.
This painting is for anyone who loves quiet streets, cozy weather, and small everyday moments turned into something bright.
