A House Between Greens - Watercolor Storefront Illustration

This gouache landscape painting is about the calm that comes from wide open space. I wanted the scene to feel like a quiet hillside after the sun has warmed the grass, when the air is still and the view stretches out in soft blue layers.

The composition is simple on purpose. A small house sits in the middle of the hill, steady and peaceful, with a warm roof that stands out against all the greens. I painted the hillside with layered brushstrokes so the surface feels textured and alive, shifting from bright highlights to deeper shadowed areas. The trees are loose and playful, built with small marks that suggest leaves catching light. Behind them, the background fades into cooler tones to create distance and that gentle sense of quiet.

This piece is for anyone who loves countryside scenes, bold greens, and paintings that feel like a pause in the middle of a busy day.
