This is a printable version of Meet Me Upstairs painting.
I painted this little building because it feels like two stories in one, literally. Downstairs is all calm blues and a sturdy doorway, like a place you can step into and instantly feel settled. Upstairs is lighter and a little more playful, with a small balcony and a sign that reads “MEE,” like a tiny invitation pinned to the side of the building.
I loved making the roof tiles dark and textured, almost like scales, because it gives the whole house a protective, cozy feeling. Then I softened everything with watercolor blooms and spots, letting the paint do its own wandering so the building feels alive instead of perfect. The balcony window adds that sense of quiet life above the street, and the potted plants at the base make it feel cared for, like someone is always home, even if you cannot see them.
This piece is for anyone who loves compact architecture, layered little details, and places that look like they are holding a secret routine inside.
