Little by Little, a Flower Shop

I painted this storefront on a day when I needed something soft and hopeful to focus on. The sign says “petit à petit”, little by little, and I kept repeating that to myself as I worked. I painted the walls first, then the shadows, then the window, and only after that came the best part, all the tiny pots and leafy shapes that slowly turned into a shop that feels alive.

In my imagination, this is a flower studio that opens early. The door is already ajar, the wooden step has a few scuffs from moving buckets and plants around, and the window display is packed with little greens waiting to be chosen. I loved playing with the contrast of creamy light against the deep purple trim, and adding small bursts of color in the blooms so it feels cheerful without being loud. The big blue pot by the doorway is like the final punctuation mark, a calm, steady splash of color that holds everything together.

This painting is for anyone who loves plant-filled spaces, quiet streets, and the gentle satisfaction of building something one small step at a time.
